How to use the Related tab
The Related tab appears on CRM and Marketing records and holds grid lists of everything linked to that record, so you can see at a glance how many contacts are linked to a given contact.
On this page:
Rows and the full-screen view
By default a related grid shows 6 rows per list, with arrows to page through.
Hovering over the grid’s title turns it blue and underlined, because it is a link. Clicking it opens a full-screen page showing 50 rows per page.
That matters on large lists. A record whose Email Recipients grid holds 200,000 rows is unusable six at a time.
Columns
To change which columns appear in a related grid, edit the Related tab in that object’s Page Layout. Standard and custom fields can both be used.
Column widths and sorting are adjusted by clicking the column headers. Once widths have been changed, a Reset Column Widths option becomes available under the gear icon in the upper right.
Filters
List Filters work on the full-screen page. Filtering Email Recipients to status equals Opened, for instance, shows which recipients opened the email.
Click Add a Filter Row to start. Every filterable standard and custom field that has been added to the grid appears as a filter option. No filters are applied by default.
Buttons
Buttons to the right of a grid title also appear on the full-screen page and behave identically there. Link a file from Google Drive on the full-screen page, refresh, and the file is linked.
Possible button functions include:
- Add links
- Add a record
- Create an email
- Add a file
- Add a note, or add a note to Evernote
- Link files from Dropbox, Box, Microsoft OneDrive, Google Drive, or PandaDoc
- Set Price Book, Add Products, Edit Products
- Create a new Quote, Create Quote PDF
- Add List
