Standard versus custom objects

Standard objects are the ones Insightly created, such as contacts and organizations. They cannot be deleted, but they can be renamed so the CRM uses the terms your team already uses. For example, your company may already call the companies it does business with Accounts. Rather than asking everyone to learn the term Organizations, an admin can relabel the object.

Admins on Professional and Enterprise plans can rename any standard object within Insightly.

This is relevant for administrators who need to understand available data objects or create custom objects using the “New Custom Object” button.

Renaming a standard object

Go to System Settings > Objects and Fields.
Select the standard object you want to rename.
Click Object Details.
Click the Actions menu.
Select Edit This Object.
Enter the object’s new singular and plural labels.
Click Save Standard Object.

If you need to rename the object again or revert it back to its original name, return to the Actions menu and select Edit This Object or Reset to Default.
