Ticket Email Bounce Errors
Updated
Where a ticket comment fails to deliver, Service shows an error explaining why. Transient bounces may succeed later once the underlying problem clears. Permanent bounces are unlikely ever to succeed.
⚠️ Permanent bounces should be removed from mailing lists immediately. Continuing to send to addresses that hard bounce damages sender reputation, and Insightly may pause the account’s ability to send email at all.
| Type | Sub type | What happened |
|---|---|---|
| Undetermined | Undetermined | A bounce message arrived without enough information to determine the reason. The bounce email sent to the Return-Path address may say more. |
| Permanent | General | A hard bounce with no reason given. |
| Permanent | NoEmail | The address does not exist. |
| Permanent | Suppressed | The address is on our suppression list for a recent history of hard bounces. |
| Permanent | OnAccountSuppressionList | Insightly suppressed it because it is on the account-level suppression list. |
| Transient | General | A general bounce. May succeed later. |
| Transient | MailboxFull | The recipient’s inbox was full. |
| Transient | MessageTooLarge | The message exceeded the provider’s size limit. |
| Transient | ContentRejected | The provider does not allow content in the message. |
| Transient | AttachmentRejected | The provider rejected an attachment, by file type or size. |
ℹ️ An out-of-office auto response can arrive as a Transient General bounce. Insightly does not count automatic responses toward the account’s bounce rate.
